Small Animal Services
We are a full service veterinary hospital providing diagnostic services including:
Physical examination – Our examination includes a general analysis of your pets health including eyes, ears, teeth, heart, lungs, skin and body condition
Laboratory – Our in house laboratory allows us to analyze a complete red and white blood cell count, as well as, a chemistry panel to evaluate internal organ and thyroid function. We offer complete urinalysis as well.
	Surgical – Our doctors perform a variety of procedures from elective surgeries such as spays and neuters, to third eyelid and orthopedic surgery. Our surgical service includes top of the line electronic monitoring using EKG, pulse oximetry, end tidal CO2 levels, and noninvasive blood pressure.
Radiology – Our high quality x-ray machine and automatic processor allow us to take and develop x-rays in just minutes.
Ultrasound – Since 2005 we have been offering diagnostic ultrasound service. Ultrasound is the ideal method of imaging the abdominal organs such as the liver, spleen, kidney and urinary bladder. Ultrasound is also useful in determining fetal condition for expectant mothers.
Dental – Our dental cleaning includes ultrasonic scaling of the tooth surface to remove plaque and staining. We then polish the teeth to create a smoother surface that is more resistant to plaque build-up. To better serve our clientele, we offer shipping of prescriptions directly to your home. This service is strictly for current Halifax County Veterinary Center patients. Clients tell us that this is the most convenient way to maintain long term prescriptions including Heartgard and Frontline.
